An Early 1900’s Ensuite Transformed Into a Chic & Functional Space
Glimmering brass tapware, matching accessories and a gold-framed arched mirror all brought together with a blue herringbone feature wall to create a luxurious bathroom anyone would be happy to step into each morning. The tide blue feature wall is balanced by the warmth of the natural urban oak vanity, custom made by M.J. Harris Group’s team of bathroom renovations specialists. With practicality at the forefront, Tori has designed this wall-to-wall vanity to include generous bench space, deep drawers and discrete storage.
She says “When designing this space, it was important to incorporate functionality with aesthetics. This ensuite was a late addition to this traditional early 1900’s home and our client wanted this particular space to feel modern, bright and inviting. The use of concrete look tiles brings in this modern aesthetic, while the blue herringbone and timber vanity bring in a sense of warmth into the space”
Making the most of the available space, Tori has included an in-wall cistern toilet with custom made brass buttons, a heated recessed in-wall niche and a walk-in shower with a large pane of glass that opens up the bathroom and adds a sense of spaciousness. “This ensuite is only small so we began to think of innovative ways to incorporate the must-haves like the towel rail without taking up any space within the room. When researching we came across these beautiful custom-made towel niches that slot nicely into a standard wall cavity and mean we can now store towels without having them protruding into the space!”
The calming colours and practical inclusions of this ensuite is sure to make the busiest of mornings a breeze for our clients in Lilydale.
