M.J. Harris Group’s in-house Design team is on the lookout for an enthusiastic, experienced Interior Designer with a passion for creating awesome residential interiors, to join our team!
The role is on a full time basis at our Thomastown office.
We are a fun and energetic team and we are incredibly driven to deliver above and beyond for our clients across Victoria.
We specialise in bathroom, kitchen, full house renovations and extensions, providing our clients a complete concept to completion service.

The role:
The right candidate will have a degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture. You will need to be passionate about home renovations and eager to take a hands-on approach in a fast-paced working environment.
It is important that the potential candidate has high attention to detail and understands how to balance their time between projects of varying importance.
Proficiency in Sketchup and CAD are essential.
You will be responsible for:
- Preparation of conceptual designs
- Creating 2D floorplan & 3D rendered drawings
- Compiling Finishes Schedules
- Sourcing fittings, fixtures, finishes, tiles, etc.
- Project documentation & quotations
- Attending site & check measures
- Attend site meetings throughout the during of the project
- Prepare & style interior photoshoots
Our ideal candidate would possess:
- Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
- Proficiency in both Sketch up and CAD (We are an ArchiCAD office)
- Experience working in the high end residential renovation/building industry would be highly regarded
- Keep up-to-date with current design trends
- A passion for interior design and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service. Working with a variety of clients meeting their design requirements.
- Show initiative and take control of your projects alongside our Construction Managers
- Excellent attention to detail, communication and presentation skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with numerous divisions of the company such as our Construction Managers, onsite trades, Joinery drafting team and Building design team etc.
- Hold a current Drivers License and be willing to travel to site as required (travel allowance will be negotiated accordingly)
- Be comfortable in front of the camera!
