This kitchen renovation in Greensborough was completed by the MJ Harris Group to create a contemporary space. From our initial meeting, we discussed a very simple and contemporary style for the kitchen. The main focus for this space was to maximise storage and create a really practical space. With the client being very specific about where she wanted each item to be stored, we focused on making sure that all cupboard and drawer sizes and location were perfectly suited to the clients’ lifestyle. Whilst discussing colours and materials, the client fell in love with Caesarstone Alpine Mist. We therefore decided to include this in both the benchtop and splashback, making it a feature in the kitchen. The really soft light grey joinery (DesignerForm Malibu Satin) was chosen as it picks up the vein from the Alpine Mist beautifully. The light tones of the joinery and bench top also helps to create an open and airy feel in the space, contrasting against the darker floors and wall colour. The darker grey (DesignerForm Peltro Satin) on the island bench then adds depth and contrast to the kitchen. With the fridge needing to be located on the other side of the balcony sliding door, we opted to give this space a slightly different feel. We did this by changing the bench top in this section to a timber, which ties in with the flooring. We then added feature frosted glass doors to the overheads.
