A light-filled space in this inner-west home
Our clients at Bayswater Road, Kensington came to us with an old terrace house with a kitchen in need of a new design and renovation. Our in-house Interior Designer, Georgia says she ‘enjoyed the challenge of trying to fit as much storage into the small space as possible’. In doing so, she has included corner cupboard storage systems, drawers underneath the bench seat and a bookshelf on the end for styling.
With the request for neutral tones, Georgia has incorporated a white lithostone bench top and solid timber drop-down seating area, creating a beautiful, light-filled space in this inner-west home. Georgia’s favourite component of her design is the splashback ledge.
‘The part I love in the kitchen is the terrazzo ledge because it adds some texture and variation to the space, whilst also providing a surface for styling or storing cooking essentials as it is right behind the stove’.
The renovated kitchen’s window has been extended out to attract as much natural light as possible. To utilise the pre-existing dead space, a cozy reading nook has been added. Fitted with power points and shelves, this nook can also be used to get on top of lingering life admin.
The finished product is a sun-soaked, neutral toned, brand new kitchen that incorporates storage and space solutions to utilise functionality.
