Are you looking for bathroom inspo? This ensuite renovation was completed by our team of interior designers and tradespeople at a home in Surrey Hills. The clients were after a simple and modern design, which better utilised the space within their large ensuite. We decided to keep the overall colour palette really minimal. To create interest we used a neutral floor and wall tile throughout, and a contrasting vanity colour with matte black tapware. Subtle texture was a theme in our design approach. We achieved this by swapping the large format tile seen on the remaining walls to a herringbone mosaic on the vanity wall and niche. Also, using the avellino style for the drawer and door fronts. This really enhanced the gorgeous grain of the Polytec Bottega Oak. The cabinetry colour was chosen so that the overall darker tones tied into the matte black tapware, whilst the lighter grain through it picked up on the warm grey tiles. This pulled the whole bathroom design together.
Quantum Quartz White Swirl was selected for the benchtop as its off white colour and simple organic pattern created a soft transition between the darker joinery and tiles. For the shaving cabinet, the client asked for a design that incorporated as much storage as possible, but had more of a feature than the standard rectangle designs. To achieve this, we designed a shaving cabinet with a feature round mirror above the basin. This tied into the round vanity lights above and the two recessed cupboards either side made for extra storage. As well as tiling to the ceiling, we also selected a floor to to ceiling frameless shower screen and floor to ceiling matte black towel ladder. This gave the space a modern and really luxurious and grand feeling.
