Shiers Street, Alphington
Our latest reveal saw us complete a full home renovation in the leafy suburb of Alphington. Along with the team M.J Harris Design, we gave this dated and weathered period style home a modern yet respectful update. Proving it is possible to blend modern function and style with the homes original unique aesthetics.
With a number of different jobs to be completed, our client knew our having all the trades under one roof would be the best option.
Keeping with the home’s rich history, the detailed front porch columns and exterior architraves were all sanded, restored and painted giving the home a new curb appeal. The colours used to transform the homes exterior were Dulux “Gamelan” on the weatherboards and “Snowy Mountains Full” on the trims, windows, gutters and fascias. The feature front door was painted in a gloss black.
Subtle references to the old house are brought into this contemporary renovation with the original hardwood Floors were sanded and polished. The entire interior was painted in ‘Natural White’ by Dulux.
The monochrome kitchen was a gorgeous inclusion with contrasting dark wood accents and compleneted by Spanish subway tiles. The custom joinery includes Polytec ‘Calcutta’ doors with 20mm Ceasterstone bench tops in ‘Bianco Drift’. The kitchen includes a chrome Franke sink and Grohe tap by Reece Bathrooms and a Smeg ‘Pyrolytic’ Oven.
The bathroom saw some major changes and are now stylish and functional with custom joinery and the addition of niches in the showers including a Caroma freestanding tub. Phoenix Nostalgia Range tap ware was used to keep with the traditional style of the home. Our designers along with the clients choose some exquisite tile combinations using “SICIS” tiles by Perini Tiles for the feature mosaic and Charcoal Floor tiles by Academy Tiles and Marble Wall tiles by Beaumont Tiles.
